The Bakhtiari rugs, woven by the Bakhtiari nomads and villagers in the Zagros mountains of Iran, are generally crafted using the wool taken from the tribe’s own herd. Many Persian Bakhtiari rugs are in nature tribal and rely upon a range of abstract geometric and animal motives. The Bakhtiari rug weavers are also renown for their ability to create geometric and floral medallion allover, and garden designs.
